Director of instruction for curriculum, instruction and assessment. Work has included:

• Lead the ongoing assessment of instruction of over 200 teacher who instruct over 4,500 students in reading, writing, speaking and listening.

• writing of a curriculum guide for district level consistency in pedagogy

• development and writing of standards based curriculum K-8

• development and writing of standards based assessments K-8

• development of cross curricular professional development delivery for teachers and principals.

• leader of instructional coaches to further develop teacher instruction and ongoing data analysis.

• leader of instructional strategists for the implementation of the intervention of tier two students in grades 2-8.

• part of a development team to institute the first district-level Oratorical Contest.

• District Level initiatives started: Spelling Bee, Poetry Slam, Men Inspiring Young Readers Day (connection with local Historically Black Colleges and Universities), Facebook Live Reading Series, Drop Everything and Read (D.E.A.R. in all schools)

• Worked with a team to develop the 2nd grade scope and sequence for the district’s 2013-14 school year.

• Created correlation to the Common Core State Standards within the document.

• Delivered training to leadership teams, teachers, and administrators on Response to Intervention and Instruction.

• Web-based training and consultation sessions for response to intervention and instruction.

• Trained and facilitated learning opportunities for teachers and grade groups on understanding the close reading strategy that aligns with the Common Core State Standards.

• Started the Lowell Elementary School Choir

• Created an ongoing partnership with the Olney Arts Rising Program and Colin’s Shoprite for youth in arts programs with the Lowell Elementary School Choir.

• Developed a professional development opportunity and service learning project “4th grade book buddies” between first and fourth grade.

• Became a mentor teacher to fellow colleagues to improve instructional and management practices.

• Started the Lowell Elementary Track Team to provide an athletic experience for students. (Won 1st place at the Penn Relays Carnival in the elementary school shuttle run).

• Taught an autistic inclusion classroom (2009 – 2010)

• Worked with Temple University and Chestnut Hill College in the mentorship and evaluation of student teachers completing requirements for general and special education certification.

• Co-developed and implemented a peer crisis intervention afterschool program: dispute resolution, education, accountability, and management (DREAM)
